On September 12, 2026, five Virginia elected officials recognized the 50th anniversary of the Friends of Dyke Marsh at Fort Hunt Park before a crowd of over 500 people attending FODM’s Raptor Rapture event.
In addition, Vince Vaise, Acting Deputy Superintendent of the George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP), also commended FODM. FODM is a friends’ group partner of GWMP. Two elected officials presented framed resolutions and one, a proclamation.
