On February 9, 2026, 19 Venerable Buddhist monks walked through the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve north on the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

They began their 2,300-mile Walk for Peace in Fort Worth,Texas, on October 26, 2025, and walked across eight states. Their cause and their trek attracted thousands of people along the way.  Many thanks to Charles and Marnie Jackson, as well as Carolyn Gamble for these photographs which they took on February 9.
